TIPTOEING AROUND THE LAYERS OF SELF

Tiptoeing through the layers of self is an attempt to explore the emotions and experiences of the people I photograph, this time through self-portraits.

Navigating one's own self-image can be a delicate endeavour, particularly when confronted with the lens of a camera. It is a unique experience to make decisions without the immediate visual feedback of how they appear.

A LITTLE WHILE LONGER

A Little While Longer is a tender exploration of the moments shared with people Lilika has encountered. Each photograph reveals the subjects as they face their surroundings, inviting viewers to step into the quiet space between presence and departure. By focusing on this view, Lilika invites us to reflect on the feeling of wanting to linger in someone’s presence just a little while longer. In these scenes, their stories blend into the landscape, creating a subtle, universal narrative of connection.

An ode to a love that comes only once in a blue moon

Lilika finds it incredible how many people we carry throughout our lives, even those who we may have only met briefly. The project "You are From Mars" explores this concept of imprinting and projection and the importance of people who have left a lasting impression throughout our lives, helping us shape our understanding of love and friendship. Moreover, with “You are from Mars” she delves into exploring how the people around us are acting as a mirror, reflecting back to us aspects of ourselves that we may not have recognized or accepted.

The current selection of photographs encapsulates seven years of her life, before and after moving to Berlin.
